How to Apply

  1. Confirm financial eligibility (see chart), and be ready to upload the most recent Form 1040 (no schedules) for the tax filer who claims the student. If no taxes are filed, call 850-469-5458 for options.
  2. Write personal statements for both student and parent/guardian. Draft thoughtfully; you can type them in or upload the drafts at the end of the form.
  3. Make sure the student and parent each have separate personal email addresses (student should not use a school district email).
  4. Open the application and select Escambia as your county. If you can answer YES to the first five questions, you’ll be routed to the full application.
  5. To save and finish later: complete at least through Section B, scroll to the end, click Save then Next, then on the next screen click Submit to receive a “resume later” link by email. (Check spam if you don’t see it; do not start a second application.)
  6. Answer all items marked with an asterisk (*).
  7. Upload proof of income and any other requested documents (you can photograph paperwork and upload clear images).
  8. When finished, click Submit, then Next, then Submit again. You’ll get a confirmation email to the student address.
