Battle of the Books is a district-wide academic book bowl. The goal of this event is to teach students the importance of collaboration and teamwork, creative thinking and problem solving, healthy competition based on mutual respect, and challenge literature expectations with regard to Florida's Language Arts Standards.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PARTICIPATE?

Read Books

Students should begin reading their desired titles from their appropriate list. The third grade list consists of nine titles and the 4th-5th grade list consists of fifteen titles. The 6th-8th grade list consists of fifteen titles, and the High School titles are intended for 9th-12th grade students. 

**ALL the books on each list are optional readsNo one is required to read all the books on any given list to participate in Battle of the Books.

Coaches will complete an on-line registration form to register their team's participation in BoB. The link is also under the heading REGISTRATION INFORMATION.

Each school is allowed three teams with a maximum of five members per team. Alternates are NOT allowedMixed grade level teams are allowed, however, a third grade team can only be comprised of third graders. No team will be allowed to register for BoB after the deadline!
