November Stellar Employee - Kerrie Arnold!
Escambia County Public Schools Office of Community Involvement is proud to recognize Ms. Kerrie Arnold as the Stellar Employee for the month of November, 2024.
Kerrie Arnold holds the official title of admin clerk, but she plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of Escambia Westgate. As the first point of contact for visitors to their campus, Kerrie provides a warm welcome and has an excellent understanding of their needs and destinations. Her responsibilities encompass managing substitute teachers, facilitating the check-in and check-out process for parents, assisting students, handling phone inquiries, and addressing a myriad of unexpected challenges that arise daily. Whether a classroom requires gloves or changing pads, Kerrie is always ready to assist.
Kerrie is responsible for overseeing all volunteer training and tracking. She has developed a keen ability to assess and identify the most suitable classroom placements for volunteers. Additionally, she manages the processing of our social security paperwork and ensures that all communications with parents are directed to the appropriate teacher’s inbox. With a minimum of 60 educational support professionals present each day at Westgate, Kerrie efficiently reorganizes teacher assistants to address any sudden emergencies that may require immediate staffing adjustments. Kerrie possesses a remarkable ability to de-escalate situations involving students, staff, and parents.
Each year, Kerrie takes the lead in organizing three of Westgate's most significant school events: spooky trail, winter walk, and earth day. These events engage a diverse array of local organizations, numerous volunteers, enthusiastic parents, and every member of the school staff. The spooky trail event, held on October 18th, achieved notable success, surpassing previous years' experiences. She coordinated an event involving over 50 volunteers and 10 distinct student activities. what would typically require the efforts of an entire parent-teacher association, Kerrie accomplished independently. Her dedication to excellence is exemplified through her professionalism, positive demeanor, diligent work ethic, and strong sense of responsibility.
She will receive a plaque, pin, and a check for $100 from Members First Credit Union.
