• Are you interested in taking a Math class over the summer? 2023-24 public school students have the option to enroll with Escambia Virtual Academy for the Summer in Math Acceleration. Math Acceleration is a summer program that takes a 36-week course and condenses it into an 8-week term. Please keep in mind there are limited seats and eligibility requirements. This summer, EVA is offering Pre-Algebra for students who qualify and are looking to take Algebra and Geometry during Middle School. Want to enroll? Have questions?     Keep in mind that this is a year-long (36-week) math class that we are completing in 8-weeks. You will have 24/7 access to the course and can work anytime. However, you are required to read through each lesson, take notes, complete practices, ask any questions you may have, and complete and pass each quiz/assignment before receiving credit. The listed assignments are due during the week listed. *A DBA is a discussion-based assessment that you will complete with me via phone call or google meet.

    How do I enroll in the Summer Math Acceleration Program?

    All students who qualify academically must contact their school admin about enrolling in the Summer Math program. Our staff does not have the ability to enroll a student. Deadline to enroll is the last day of school. 

    How long is the Summer Math Acceleration Program?

    The EVA Summer term is 8 weeks. Students are expected to complete an entire school year of Math during an 8-week term. 

    Do I have a teacher?

    Yes, you will be assigned an instructor who serves as a facilitator throughout the course. Instruction, course content, and assignments are all provided inside the course.

    Will I be provided with a textbook?

    No, all coursework within the online platform is digital. Students will be expected to guide themselves through the course content with the usage of lessons, modules, and information inside the platform. 

    What platform will be used for Math Acceleration?

    All Math Acceleration enrollments will use the FLVS Franchise platform. Students are required to make their own virtual account and request the appropriate course. Directions will be provided by EVA. 

    Are students required to log in at certain times throughout the day? 

    No. Students will have access 24/7 to the course, including weekends and holidays. Please note the assigned teacher will only have open office hours during certain times during the week. 

    Can I go at my own pace?

    No. Students are expected to meet weekly pacing requirements for attendance to stay enrolled. Students unable to meet pacing requirements will be dropped from the course. 

    Are there any materials I must have in order to work on the course?

    Students are expected to have a working cell phone and electronic device (other than a cell phone) in order to complete course work. Students will be expected to talk with their instructor verbally.

    Can I take a vacation during the Summer term?

    Yes! Students who want to take a vacation are encouraged to work ahead in order to meet weekly pacing requirements.
