    Dismissal/Drop Off Procedures

The Helms Road side of the school is the car-rider drop-off & pick-up side of the school. The drop off area is behind the Kindergarten wing- enter through the far western gates and circle through to the exit. The area in front of the main doors and the front of the cafeteria is not a drop-off area.

Please do not drop students off on the Woodside Road side of the school. This area is reserved for buses only.

    Check In/Check Out Procedures

After 7:35 a.m. your child is tardy. An adult must accompany them into the office to check them in and get a tardy pass to class.

Come to the office to check your child out. A photo ID will be required.

The closing of the school day is a very important time in terms of homework assignments and preparation for the next school day. Early check out during this closing time is disruptive to the entire class. Please try to limit checkouts.

Due to safety reasons, students may not be checked out after 1:20 p.m

    Visiting the School

To ensure the safety of our students, all visitors are required to check in and out in the front office. A driver's license is required so that a visitor pass, which must be worn at all times, may be printed out.

If you wish to eat lunch with your student, come to the office to sign in. You will meet your child in the cafeteria at their lunchtime. Only visitors listed in the student information system, Focus, will be allowed a badge and to enter our campus.

    Birthday Celebrations

Please do not send flowers or balloons. Because we have so many children with birthdays each day, this could become quite cumbersome and distracting. If you wish to share your child's birthday with his/her classmates, please arrange with your child's teacher to bring in a store-bought snack which may be eaten at lunch.

    Volunteers

You may contact the volunteer coordinator (Angela Mott) or the classroom teacher to volunteer. All volunteers must have an Affidavit of Good Moral Character on file in the office. Annual volunteer training is required for all volunteers. When you come to volunteer, please check in at the front office and receive your volunteer name tag. Thank you in advance for your help. Our volunteers are an integral part of our success!

We also have a very active PTA and School Advisory Council. Each year we strive for 100% PTA membership. If you would like to be involved with the PTA Board or any PTA activities, please contact any board member (see PTA page.)

    GO GUARDIAN

    Welcome to GoGuardian Parent!

Congrats! Your school has just granted you access to GoGuardian Parent, a mobile app to help keep parents/guardians aware of your children's browsing activity, app usage, and more. GoGuardian Parent is a companion to the classroom management and internet filtering tools that your child's school uses for devices issued to students. Through the use of this app, we hope to encourage more open and honest conversations between parents and children that will result in safer practices and responsible browsing habits.

    What is GoGuardian Parent?

GoGuardian Parent was created to help provide additional educational support to administrators and teachers by allowing parents to see what sites and documents their children are browsing. The app gives parents a bird's eye view of the apps and websites that their kids are on most often. With this perspective, parents can be made aware of what types of browsing behavior schools are seeing from students so they can all work together to encourage more effective internet browsing habits at home and at school.

What's the intention of the app?

By providing insight into student browsing habits, our goal is to empower parents to take a more active role in their children's online learning. We aim to create a greater sense of transparency with student browsing to help bring about a greater sense of accountability on both the parent's and the student's part. We also believe that transparency and insight will increase the likelihood of productive student browsing habits on a more consistent basis.

What is included in this app:

    • Top 5 summary of student browsing (apps, extensions, documents, and websites visited)

    • Teacher interventions

    • 30-day view of websites, videos, documents, apps, and extensions
