  • Grants for Excellence Awards $100,000 to 17 Projects

The Grants for Excellence program is part of the State of Florida School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program through the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations. The Escambia County Public Schools Foundation used $50,000 of the funds, in addition to locally raised donations to match, allowing for $100,000 in high impact grants to be awarded this year.

Applicants were asked to focus on literacy, low performing students, and graduation rates in their projects, and were encouraged to collaborate across grade levels, entire schools, or subject areas in order to have a greater reach for their projects. Grants between $2,000 and $7,500 were awarded through the application and blind review process to 17 different creative and collaborative projects. There are great innovative things happening in our Escambia County Public Schools.  This program is ongoing and has had a major impact through the years, allowing for projects that are not funded by another source.  We rely on local business partners, individual donors and our Foundation fundraising to fund this program.
