  • Mira Awards

    Mira, meaning "brightest star," was conceived by a group of teachers at Tate High School in 1987. Since then, the Mira Awards have been expanded to all Escambia County high schools, and our exceptional seniors' creativity and artistic gifts are recognized.

    This annual spring event honors 10 creative, artistic students from each Escambia County public high school in the following areas:

    Each spring, the achievements of Escambia County's "best of the best" seniors are celebrated at this event.
    The awardees are from the graduating class of each high school and include:

    Top five students

    Top students in English, foreign language, math, science, social studies, and career and technical education

    National Merit Finalists
